Youth Diversion and Development
Los Angeles County YDD program seeks to ensure that all youth in Los Angeles County can connect with a YDD service provider that address their needs reducing youth arrests and equitably improving outcomes for youth and communities.
We will provide an individualized CARE PLAN in lieu of arrest with the goal of equitably reducing young people's involvement with the justice system.

According to Los Angeles Police Department reports, gang-related homicides were down more than 20 percent last year. But gangs were still the cause of the majority of killings in Los Angeles.
There are an estimated 450 active gangs with more than 45,000 gang members. Some of the most vulnerable potential gang members are children. Giving youth the support they need before they get into a gang is a joint effort being made by our police, our communities, and our schools.

Our Faith Based work in San Fernando begun in March of 1978 and leading to the San Francisco Bay Area July 1980, street preaching to some of the most dangerous project reaching youth in the Mission District with the founding of New Life Faith Center, New Life Productions and New Life Home which gave us the perspective of the transforming power of merging community engagement and faith in Jesus!
Through the merging of faith and community engagement we have been able to witness first hand the lasting power of transformation in youth and adults.
Pastor Rudy life transforming experience in Christ, after the lure of drugs, alcohol, breaking into home and cars, joy riding, being shot at as a 14 year old for attempting to steal car stereos and at 16 experienced the trauma of waking up to mom screaming as our dad died at home after being denied a bed at the Veterans Hospital in Sepulveda Ca, As a troubled youth I had said things to him I would later regret while under the influence of drugs and alcohol. At 16 I woke in the Los Angeles County hospital in 1972 after an attempted suicide by drug overdose and eventually I dropped out of school at 17yrs of age and was already living with a grilfriend and failing in school.
Living a reckless life landing in city jail and county jail a couple of times which eventually led to doing 30 days at Mira Loma Detention Center, a Los Angeles County facility realizing that I never wanted to be locked up again.
I was never a gang member but was shot by known gang members at the age of 21 after retaliating over a dispute, this led to carrying a gun not realizing that my life could change in a moment of time with what I call a lethal combination. ( Being under the influencence, carrying a gun and the wrong people showing up.)
I know the pain of a broken spirit living life with no direction and darkness, yet I know what it means to be restored to life with a purpose through Jesus Christ!
